LST vs topping β€” which gives better yields in a 60x60 tent?

Been growing in a 60x60 tent for about two years now and I've experimented a lot with training methods. Thought I'd share what I've found. Topping works great but you need enough veg time to recover β€” I'd say minimum 2 weeks after the cut before flipping. It creates a very even canopy and I've had good results, but it does add time. LST (low stress training) is my preferred method for autos or when I'm tight on veg time. Gently bending the main stem and tying it down from week 2 onwards. No recovery time needed, keeps the plant in a horizontal shape, and really opens up the canopy to light. For my 60x60 I typically run 2 plants with LST and get around 150-180g total per run. Anyone else had good results with different methods in a small tent?

Diagnosing and fixing a magnesium deficiency

Had a nasty mag deficiency show up mid-flower and wanted to document how I fixed it in case it helps anyone. Symptoms: yellow patches between the veins on older fan leaves, starting mid-canopy and working upward. Classic interveinal chlorosis. Cause: I was using RO water and hadn't been adding a cal-mag supplement. The low EC of RO water means plants can struggle to uptake secondary nutrients. Fix: Added 1ml/L of Calmag Plus to every watering for 2 weeks. New growth came in healthy green within 5-6 days. Older damaged leaves didn't recover but stopped getting worse. Lesson: if you're using RO or very soft tap water, always add cal-mag. Don't wait for deficiency signs.
