Durban Poison by Dutch Passion is a classic pure African sativa that has been carefully adapted over decades for cultivation in northern climates. Originally brought to Holland from South Africa, this iconic strain was inbred through multiple generations during the 1970s, gradually acclimating to the cooler, windier conditions of Northern Europe. During this process, trace indica traits were introduced, though the sativa dominance remains unmistakable.
While Durban Poison may initially show broad, indica-like leaves, its true sativa character shines through at flowering — producing long, resinous buds dotted with narrow sativa-style leaves. Indoors, she finishes in 8–9 weeks and delivers impressive yields of 450–650 g/m². Outdoors, plants can stretch 2–3 metres tall and are harvested at the beginning of autumn, yielding 450–550 grams per plant.
Durban Poison is prized for its energising and uplifting effect, dark green mold-resistant buds, and a spicy, slightly misty flavour profile featuring hints of aniseed, licorice, and cloves. A consistently high-yielding, hardy variety suited to both indoor and outdoor cultivation.
