C99, also known as Cinderella 99, is one of the original feminized strains introduced by Female Seeds at their founding in 2003 — though work on this iconic variety began as far back as 1999. Rooted in the legendary Brothers Grimm C99 lineage, Female Seeds developed their own unique expression through years of experimentation, backcrossing two specially selected phenotypes — a Grapefruit and the iconic Pineapple pheno — to produce an exceptionally stable, high-performing strain.

The genetics trace back to a long-flowering Sweet Thai landrace crossed with a short-flowering sativa, most likely Durban Poison. The result is the holy grail of sativa cannabis: a fast-flowering plant that delivers the taste and effect of a classic landrace sativa, compressing what would normally be a six-month flowering cycle down to just 8–9 weeks.

C99 presents in two distinct phenotypes: one more compact, the other slightly more stretchy. Both produce enormous candle-shaped central colas flanked by dense, resin-coated secondary buds. Despite its sativa dominance, stretch is manageable indoors, while outdoors plants can reach an impressive 2–3 metres.

Flavour-wise, one pheno expresses a vibrant grapefruit character while the other carries the sought-after pineapple aroma. Together they deliver a beautifully balanced fruity-sweet and pleasantly tart profile. The effect is quintessentially sativa — warm, glowing, uplifting and euphoric, with long-lasting mental stimulation and a surge of creative energy. Notably, C99 carries an unusually high CBD content for a sativa-dominant strain.
